There’s nothing worse than seeing a young person struggle with anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem.

Over the many years of working with young people at the Modern Parenting Solutions office, I’ve found that the one thing that holds young people back from having a better life is their mindset.

Fortunately, though, parents can have a big impact on changing their young person’s negative thinking bias, and today’s episode is going to show you how to work with your child or teen at home to help them kick the bad habit of the negative thinking bias and to adopt a more positive and helpful outlook.

In this episode, you will:

  • Learn exactly what a negative thinking bias is and how to identify if your child or teen qualifies for this
  • Discover the 3 reasons why some young people default to negative thinking while others don’t
  • Understand why positive thinking isn’t lying to yourself (this is a popular misconception I hear from kids and parents all the time!!)
  • Take away the 4-step strategy to change your child’s negative and unhelpful thinking into positive, realistic, and empowering thoughts
  • Feel confident that you can use this strategy to improve your child or teen’s emotions and behavior after listening to this episode!

This parenting strategy isn’t easy – and it takes some time to become a new habit – but it’s well worth it in the end.

When young people master the ability to change their uncomfortable emotions into tolerable ones, identify healthy and effective solutions to problems, and focus on the fact that THEY are in control of their emotions and behaviors, then they’ll mature into happy and successful young adults.
